As a young Armenian living outside of Armenia, I came to realize just how important and challenging it can be to meet and connect with fellow Armenians abroad. Moving from the East Coast to the West Coast of the U.S., I saw that this wasn't just an issue for smaller communities but even for large ones like Los Angeles.
With that realization, I set out to create a space where Armenians from all backgrounds and locations could come together and form meaningful connections.
When we first launched Ari on the web, we quickly discovered that the demand was even greater than we imagined. By 2015, Ari became the first Armenian dating and social networking app available on both the App Store and Google Play.
From day one, our mission has been clear: to connect Armenians everywhere and help create lasting, meaningful relationships. Today, that mission is stronger than ever. Our growing team of developers, designers, and marketers—based in both Yerevan and Los Angeles—is dedicated to making Ari the go-to platform for Armenian singles worldwide.

Ari is the next chapter of Armroom, the first Armenian dating app, which originally launched in the App Store in 2014. Armroom itself began even earlier, as a dating website created to help Armenians in the diaspora connect beyond family introductions or community events.
Over time, Armroom gained traction and was featured in several Armenian and non-Armenian publications. In 2025, we decided to relaunch the platform under a new name and rebuild it entirely from the ground up. Ari carries the same mission forward, with modern technology and a clearer focus on intentional, meaningful connection.
Why did you rebrand Armroom to Ari?
The rebrand was not just about a new name. It was a full reset.
